PRAI: The DAP will not limit itself to wooing only the Chinese electorate for the Permatang Pauh by-election which will be held on Aug 26.

Penang Chief Minister and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said the Penang state government has to look after everyone in the state regardless of race.

“Be it in the DAP or Pakatan Rakyat (PR), we are Malaysian in outlook and approach, delivery and presentation, and we do not want to narrow ourselves to only one segment of the community.

“We are adopting a collective and cooperative approach to convince the voters why it is crucial for them to vote for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in this by-election.

“They have a clear choice of choosing a future prime minister or an ordinary Barisan Nasional candidate who has no hope whatsover of becoming the future prime minister,” Lim said after officiating at the opening ceremony of Toray Plastics (M) Sdn Bhd’s RM350 million MT6 expansion project in Prai. IPOH: PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is the people’s ticket to a new Federal Government, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said.

Lim, who is also Penang Chief Minister, said Anwar’s return to Parliament after he wins the Permatang Pauh by-election would pave way to programmes for an improved new Government.

“We hope Anwar can win and win big so that he can bring to Parliament the hopes of the Pakatan Rakyat and all Malaysians for a fairer, more democratic and transparent Government.

“We are confident that with the cooperation among the partners of Pakatan Rakyat, there will be new politics,” he said when opening the Ipoh Timur and Ipoh Barat DAP Parliamentary Liaison Committee annual general meetings here on Sunday night. [more]
