Police Harassment: Raid on Raja Petra Kamaruddin’s house

KUALA LUMPUR: Police raided the house of Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamaruddin in connection with a statutory declaration (SD) signed by a Hospital Pusrawi doctor.

A posting on the news portal said the police came to the house in Bukit Rahman Putra, Sungai Buloh, at 8am and were acting in relation to the sodomy allegation against PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Malaysian court orders blogger to reveal sources

KUALA LUMPUR – A MALAYSIAN high court has ordered a prominent political blogger to reveal his sources used in articles that alleged sodomy accusations against opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim were fabricated, a lawyer said on Thursday.

Online commentator Raja Petra Raja Kamarudin had in three articles posted on his blog implied that lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah was behind the sodomy accusations by Mr Anwar’s 23-year-old aide.

Mr Muhammad Shafee told The Associated Press he obtained the court order on Wednesday against Mr Raja Petra, ordering him to reveal the sources of the three articles published this month, and the identities of those who commented on them.

The court also ordered him to remove the articles and all comments within two days and refrain from publishing similar allegations, Mr Muhammad Shafee said.

‘This man, he’s been talking absolutely rubbish. He makes up stories’, Mr Muhammad Shafee said.

In the articles, Mr Raja Petra alleged Mr Muhammad Shafee helped engineer the sodomy accusations against Anwar for his own gain. [more]
